Tradere
Laia Santanach Dance Company (Catalunya, Spain)
mesmerising new dance piece, recorded with live electronic music, from
award-winning Barcelona-based choreographer Laia Santanach. This piece
of contemporary dance is a reflection on the word 'tradition': the set
of knowledge, customs and beliefs that get handed down from generation
to generation. The piece highlights how some western traditions
sacrifice the body for belief, custom and esteem, endangering it, in the
name of popular belief, love and a sense of community. Created from
intensive research, Tradere was made for three formats: indoor and
outdoor live performance, and video.
