Sacred Arts Festival: Exploring Sacred Space at St Michael and All Saints

Tollcross is now an expensive place to live. When St Michael and All Saints was built, it was one of the poorest parts of the city. The church was founded for people with very little, yet nothing inside reflects that. Behind plain grey stone lies a lavish, uncompromising interior articulated in colour, gilding, and devotional imagery. On this tour, Rector Fr Oliver Brewer-Lennon invites visitors to discover a church that still startles, still contends, and still rewards close attention. Organised in conjunction with the National Churches Trust.
