ScotlandsFest: The Scots Fought Slavery, Didn’t They?

It’s time to hear the truth. Kate Phillips, author of Bought and Sold: Scotland, Jamaica and Slavery, presents the evidence. Scottish banks and insurance companies, slave ships on the Clyde, the many Scots trading from Liverpool, all those who funded the propaganda and prejudice, the pro-slavery organisations and British parliamentary support in favour of slavery. The violent, white, Scottish vigilante groups such as the Trelawney Colonial Union in Jamaica, who fought to the utmost of their ability to keep the inhumane system.
